Pre-Requisites & Selection of Graduate Students

Baccalaureate Degree

Applicants must possess preparation equivalent to the baccalaureate degree. Adequate academic preparation can best be demonstrated by a baccalaureate degree in the chosen option or in a closely related field. Applicants who lack adequate preparation may be required to make up academic deficiencies through additional course work. Such course work may not be used toward the graduate degree.

GPA

Applicants should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the last sixty undergraduate units.  Applicants who do not meet this criteria, but have extensive relevant work experience, or exceptional GRE scores may appeal. To file an appeal, the applicant would ask the faculty that they are applying to work with to submit a one paragraph written justification to the Graduate Advisory Council through the Graduate Coordinator.

GRE Scores

GRE is optional; contact the professor(s) you're interested in working with to see if s/he requires it.

Once the application deadline closes, your file will be submitted to the faculty review committee. This process can take from 3-6 weeks, so please be patient.

If you have questions about the application instructions, please contact the appropriate option that can be found on the contact link.
