Field Trips
Face to Face courses only:
Approved field trips must stay within Humboldt County.
Updated travel guidance provided by Humboldt County Department of Human Services https://humboldtgov.org/DocumentCenter/View/87024/TravelUpdate-061220 defines individuals "in the same household" for the purposes of domestic travel.
Students must be able to drive themselves to the field trip site. Buses and vans are not available, and students are not allowed to carpool. This limitation is based on Public Health advisement and social distancing limitations.
New from FITT: If students live in the same household and can demonstrate they are abiding by the Social Responsibility Commitment, they may choose to travel together, although even this should be avoided if possible. This likely means that if students live in the same household, driver+1 passenger is possible, if social distancing and cleaning practices are in place. It is up to the student to employ these mechanisms as stated in the commitment, "I will practice social distancing and follow protective guidelines when social distancing is not possible." Students that are not in the same household must drive alone.
Volunteer drivers are not being allowed.
The new release of liability form must be signed electronically or on paper by all attending the field trips.
Additional Information:
The forestry locker rooms will be closed. The water will be turned off to the showers and the locker facilities will be isolated from use.
More Information Will Be Provided As It Becomes Available
